Trick or Treat!
Words you will finally be hearing more and more around Amsterdam…
Unlike a few years ago, Halloween is finally seen as a holiday in the Netherlands thanks to so many International families who live in the area! However, it can still be ‘tricky’ to find the right places to celebrate.

There are private groups and neighborhoods which host their own Halloween activities so make sure to check your local neighborhood for closed trick or treat events or consider to organize it yourself in your street! But more and more other activities open to the public are popping up each year.
We’ve put together a great list of fun Halloween activities you and your family can experience this year:
KIDS:
Monday October 21 & Tuesday October 22
Lucky Beat will host a Halloween Music Camp - Sing, dance, learn how to play instruments in a band! (For ages 4-15).
Wednesday October 23rd & Friday October 25th
WOW Amsterdam will host a Baby & Toddler Sensory Pumpkin Party (For ages 0 - 4 years)
Friday October 25th
Halloween Night Parade starting at Speeltuin Oud Sloten at 19:00, after de walk through Sloten there will be a Dracula disco at the playground cafeteria.
Friday October 25th & Saturday October 26th
Halloween Tree Night climbing in Amsterdamse Bos, this is for all ages from 19:00 til 23:00.
Saturday October 26th
Little Lollipops is hosting a Halloween Party on October 26 with sessions for various ages (2 months - 4 years). Sign up soon because space is limited!
Saturday October 26th 14:00 - 17:00
Kids Halloween Costume Ball at The Nieuwe Anita. An afternoon of freaky fun for kids and adults alike. Cut some hallowed grooves on the dance floor with DJ Charley Rhythm & munch on some halloween snacks!
Saturday October 26th 11:00 - 16:00
Halloween Party at De Zomerbloemen Pluktuin. Dress like a witch or sorcerer, perform the indicated assignments that are spread all over the garden and drink our magic potion. Your reward: the one and only sorcery diploma…. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! (For ages 4 - 9 years)
Sunday October 27th 09:00 - 11:30
The Hardrock Cafe presents Rock out Halloween with face painting, games, trick or treating, Decorate your own Donuts and a spooky Disco- so get ready for a Little Monsters Ball!
Sunday October 27th 10:30 - 12:30
The Spooktacular walk for the little ones hosted by Stichting Amsterdam Mamas on at Beatrixpark (south) is a well-known fun event for families and young children.
Wednesday October 31st and the weekend of 2 & 3 November
Ginger & Ale are hosting crafts and fun for Halloween, with ghost making, Halloween masks, dressing up, face painting and more! Every Sunday they also host a family friendly brunch!
Thursday October 31st 17:30-20:00
Hilversum Halloween Trick Or Treating! Families around Hilversum volunteer to decorate their houses and serve treats for children who want to dress up and trick or treat! Request to join the private FB group if you want to participate.
Thursday October 31st
Spooky Halloween Walk in Monnickendam - this event does not include trick or treating but is a spooky walk with a ton of ‘actors’ and scene’s displayed during a route. (For older children as can be scary).
ADULTS:
Saturday October 26th 22:00 - 05:00
This year, the biggest Halloween Party of Amsterdam is taking place for the 11th time at the Westergasfabriek area. WesterUnie will be prepared for a Japanese Horror Story promoted by Amsterdam Halloween!

Silent Disco | Paradiso Halloween Party at Paradiso

The Hardrock Cafe presents: Festival of Frights, a dinner/drink and party package with prizes for best dressed halloween costumes

The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Amsterdam Spook presents this Live event at Q-factory- watch the movie and dress up like Magenta, Riff Raff or Dr Frank n Furter and do the Time Warp!

PUMPKIN PATCHES:
There are many Farms in Amstelveen and Purmerend which sell Pumpkins but for an old fashioned Pumpkin Patch this is the place to go:

COSTUMES:
Luckily most big stores are becoming aware of Halloween’s popularity and sell costumes for all ages, like:
H&M, Zara, Hema, Kruidvat, Zeeman, Wibra, Action and TK maxx,
But for the more professional costumes we recommend:
